What does Art means to you?
I love having this kind of conversations with my friends. And I always get very different answers.
People say to me that art is about engagement, about community, about magic.
This is always the question I asked myself: why this? why now? why here? why in this form? And it all comes to the question of what does it mean to you?
For me, art means questions, not answers.
This is one of the most principle rule for my practices as artists. To get into it and also get out of it. To see what’s inside, but also look where it is. To be timely and also timeless. To be flexible. To be independent. To be free.
I love questions, so it makes me somehow a dramaturg. But I always believe in that dramaturg is not what I am going to do eventually, but how I am going to get there.
But feel free to join me in this journey of questions. What I can be sure is that: Life has no right answer and the world has multiple truths.
